GOOD IDEAS: CLASS
Have a good idea that could make a positive difference to society, your community or the environment? Good Ideas Class is back for 2026, and we’re looking for 16 changemakers from across Scotland to join our next cohort.
Turning an idea into action can feel daunting. The journey from the initial spark to launching a social business can be messy and complicated. Good Ideas was created to support people through this process, bringing together a close-knit community of people at similar stages of their journey to learn, grow, collaborate and develop their ideas together.
What to expect
Good Ideas is a seven-month programme designed to help you develop your idea and build the confidence, knowledge and connections you need to move it forward.
The programme includes:
- 12 core classes exploring social innovation, business development and the tools you need to develop your idea
- Opportunities to connect with the wider social innovation ecosystem
- A class trip and social to learn, connect and build relationships with your cohort
- A final showcase, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your idea
- Access to coworking at The Melting Pot throughout the programme, giving you valuable time and headspace to work on your project and connect with your class peers
All core sessions take place in person at The Melting Pot in Edinburgh, and participants are expected to commit to attending all core sessions and the final showcase.

Final showcase: Thursday 3 June 2027

Who is it for?
Good Ideas is for people across Scotland with an idea that could create positive social or environmental change. Whether you’re at the very beginning of your journey or already taking steps towards making your idea a reality, the programme provides a supportive space to develop your thinking, test your ideas and connect with others on a similar journey.
Cost
The full value of the Good Ideas Programme is £750, but thanks to our subsidy participants pay just £75.
If the £75 contribution would be a barrier to taking part, please let us know in your application. We want to make the programme as accessible as possible.
