Fathers Network Scotland (FNS) is seeking to appoint new members to their non-Executive Board. This dynamic organisation is moving into the next stage of its development, following the success of Year of the Dad in 2016. Year of the Dad was a major collaborative national campaign which involved a major step up for us as a Board and for our operational team – Fathers Network Scotland require two additional volunteer non-Executive Directors to ensure future sustainability, bring strategic leadership and support our maturing as an organisation.

Fathers Network Scotland is a Scottish Charity (since 2010) with a vision to create a safe and compassionate Scotland where all children, their families and communities are enriched and strengthened through the full and welcome involvement of their fathers. They aim to do this through our mission of driving positive cultural change by inspiring organisations to engage, support and empower men to be the fathers they want to be. An Edinburgh-based company (though we welcome applications and participation from all over Scotland), limited by guarantee and currently funded by the Scottish Government. In all our activities and relationships the values that we holds are to be: strong, nurturing, collaborative, wise, playful and agile

The Board is key to the success of Fathers Network Scotland over the next few years. It will need to ensure that we deliver on the legacy of Year of the Dad which we are calling ‘Building a Father Friendly Scotland’. Board Members of the charity are responsible for ensuring the organisation is solvent, well run and well led to meet its charitable objectives.
