Claire Carpenter – Managing Director
Claire founded TMP back in 2005 and has been learning ‘on the job’ (like everyone else) ever since. Her background is in community and organisational development. Whenever there’s time off, she’ll be found down the allotment, camping, and touring on her motorbike.
Phillip Reid – Events Host
Phillip joined the team originally in 2010 through the Community Jobs Fund opportunity and now co-ordinates and Hosts all clients having meetings and events here. Always cheerful and willing to help, he’ll go the extra mile to make your event work for you. Out of the office, Phillip is an aspiring pool player (inbetween pints).
Ian Baxter Book keeper
Ian joined the team in 2008 and has instigated a number of financial management systems and improvements over this time. He’s been involved in environmental issues for 30 years and is currently treasurer of the Scottish Greens. Other interests include travelling, walking and organic gardening – watch out for the home-brew!
Jennifer Richmond Administrator
Jeni joined the team in 2011. She’s a TMP Member and a freelance Administrator, PA and book-keeper for a range of non-profits. Jeni has over twenty years experience in administration, business systems and financial record keeping roles. Jeni’s down time is spent down the swimming pool.
James Wilkinson Communication & Sales Co-ordinator
James joined the team in Early November 2011 through the Community Jobs Fund opportunity. He is responsible for the Marketing, Sales & communication of The Melting Pot's services along with a team of 5 volunteers. Outside of the office James is classed as quite the socialite and can be found self indulging in retail therapy or a casual drink.

Lianne Noy – Business Development Intern
Currently in final year of study at HWU, of MA Management and Enterprise, conducting dissertation research in social impact measurement. After travelling in the Far East, Lianne became really interested in getting involved in social enterprise, with a particular interest in project management in international development. Her first steps being an opportunity to work with FSDi in Mombasa Kenya in 2012. At The Melting Pot she's learning the ropes of business development, and helping as much as she can whilst enjoying being immersed in the field.
Ian Hepburn – Fundraising
Ian has supported TMP in fundraising research and applications since early 2010. He enjoys keeping a practical hand in where it counts in non-profit development, and works for West Lothian Council.
Martin Ramsay – IT support for Members
Martin has been instrumental in TMPs development since the beginning when we were turning an idea into reality. Martin has had many years of software development experience, but the entrepreneurial bug has bitten and now he's developing his own ideas...
Community Hosts
A number of Members and other supporters of TMP have taken on this special role in supporting our Community of Social Innovators – they help host the co-working space and support Members and our Members’ events.

Claire Carpenter, Founder and Managing Director
Claire is a social entrepreneur by nature, philosophy and background. Having worked in many ways in Scotland’s ‘more-than-profit' sector, her energy and expertise focuses on organisational and personal development. Ultimately, she is concerned to create connections that help to build sustainable and empowered communities. She is an MSc Graduate and Fellow of the Centre for Human Ecology.
Chris Horne, Chair of the Board
Chris was CEO of Pilotlight Scotland, a charity that uses the skills of senior business people to coach charities and social enterprises. Now running his own business, Chris brings sales and marketing, organisational development and management skills to The Melting Pot.
Jenni Inglis
Jenni is an independent consultant, who is also a Director of the SROI Network. Jenni does SROI analysis with public and third sector organisations and market research into public service markets. Jenni is also a Member of The Melting Pot.
Lauren Scott
Lauren has over eight years' experience working as a solicitor for Morton Fraser. She specialises in corporate law and also sits on the firm's charities team. She has a broad range of experience advising charitable and other 'not-for-profit 'organisations
Richard Thomas
Richard is a senior police officer with over twenty years' experience of business and management in charitable, private and public sector organisations. Richard brings expertise in leadership, performance management, and team working across organisational boundaries.
Ken Kinnaird
Ken Kinnaird is an experienced Financial Director. Having spent many years in the scotch whisky industry, he has for the last 15 years, been an advisor and mentor to SME's in various organisations in Scotland. He joined The Melting Pot as he values the contribution that Social Innovation organizations make to the community and wishes to participate in the development of the sector.
