Key Details

Our post code (handy for Sat Navs) is EH2 2PR.

Our building is at 5 Rose Street, which runs between St Andrew Square to the East and Charlotte Square to the west (we’re at the end closest to St Andrew Square).

Our main door is sandwiched between The Abbotsford (pub) and Fopp (music/film/book store), opposite the rear entrance to Marks & Spencer’s. There’s an A-board outside our door during working hours, and the main door will lead you to a glass secure-entry door: press [B] then [3] on the intercom by the glass door to call reception, and one of our friendly hosts will invite you up to the 4th floor.

If you have any problems trying to find us, you can always call our friendly hosting team on 0131 243 2626.

Here’s a handy map showing our location, plus some useful points for travelling and enjoying your time with us while you’re here:

  • On Foot

If you’re in or around the centre of Edinburgh, just use Shanks’s Pony to get to us! Don’t worry: If you’ll be walking a good distance, you can always take the lift to the 4th floor when you arrive, and relax for a moment on one of our sofas with a refreshing beverage when you get here 😉

  • By Bus

Edinburgh is renowned for having one of the best local bus services in Europe. The majority of buses make their way in to the city centre and drive along Princes Street and/or along St Andrew Square, just a couple of minutes’ walk from us.

You may find it useful to use Lothian Buses’ online journey planner and set your destination as either “Rose Street”, “St Andrew Square” or “Princes Street”.

  • By Car

There is limited parking available in the city centre (and paying to park in the city centre can be very expensive), so it is always best to take advantage of Edinburgh’s excellent public transport systems. However, for short visits, there is metered parking on George Street and St Andrew Square (subject to availability, and these prices).

  • By Bike

There are bicycle racks next door to The Melting Pot (the closest being outside Sainsbury’s on Rose Street, next door to The Melting Pot here). There are a few other bike racks on Rose Street, as well on the corner of St Andrew Square. Bike racks are marked on the map above.

  • By Tram

Edinburgh’s tram system runs to/from the airport, and along Princes Street, stopping a couple of minutes’ walk from The Melting Pot, on the opposite side of St Andrew Square.

  • By Coach

If you’re coming from another town or city in Scotland, Edinburgh Bus & Coach Station is just a 5 minute walk away, across St Andrew Square, which you can reach with coach services such as CityLink.

  • By Train

Edinburgh’s Waverley Station is just a 5 minute walk to The Melting Pot. Use these links to plan your journey to or from Waverley: ScotRail – Edinburgh Waverley or The Trainline – Edinburgh Waverley.

  • By Plane

From Edinburgh Airport, the easiest ways to get in to the city centre are either by Airlink bus or Tram. Both are fast, reliable and offer free Wi-Fi. Here are your travel options into Edinburgh from the airport.
