What makes The Melting Pot different?

The Melting Pot’s diverse community of members are all working to help make the world a better place. That makes for an inspiring, supportive and collaborative environment to help you work, connect, develop ideas, share skills and knowledge, and make things happen.

There’s a regular programme of members’ events including skill-sharing workshops, networking events, socials and lunches.  It’s amazing what can be accomplished over a bowl of soup!

Facilities

The Melting Pot’s low carbon, fully serviced office space includes:

• Fairtrade tea and coffee with local organic milk

• Printing facilities (photocopying and colour printing is charged separately)*

How it works

Join, turn up, work, connect

The Melting Pot allows you to use a professional, eco-funky office in the centre of Edinburgh without the cost and hassle of leasing or buying.  Members only pay for the hours they need each month, with phone line rental, Wi-Fi broadband, heat, light, everyday printing and the essential tea and coffee all included in most packages.

Join

Membership is only open to those working for or with not for profit and more than profit organisations.  Please call us on 0131 243 2626 to make an appointment to see the space for yourself, discuss your needs and meet some of the people who work here.  Or come and try out working here for FREE on our regular open days. Once you’re sure you want to join us, download our membership form and complete and return it.  If we have space at the level you chose, you can get started pretty much straight away.   There’s no joining fee and no deposit.  

Turn up, get to work

You don’t need to book in advance, just show up with your laptop any time after 8.30am Monday to Friday.  Pick a seat, log on to the phone and Wi-Fi and get to work.  We’re open until 6pm and later until 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Connect

At The Melting Pot you’ll meet a diverse bunch of like-minded people working for more-than-profit.  Many of our members have found work, collaborated or made new friends – at the very least someone will make you a cup of tea and ask how it’s going.

What it costs

There are 5 options for individual membership, on an hours per month basis:

There are 2 options for organisational associate membership.  Organisations purchase a block of time to be used over a six month period by multiple users.
