Assisted Places Programme

We are delighted to announce the 4 winners of the second round of our Assisted Places programme.  Helping start-up social innovators to escape long hours working alone at their kitchen table, the Assisted Places programme offers FREE membership of The Melting Pot for 6 months, as part of a package of business mentoring and support.

The four winners are: Keys to Inclusion, Fathers’ Network Scotland, HALE and Joyworks

Keys to Inclusion is an independent social enterprise set up in March 2010 working to promote inclusion and equality for Scotland’s disabled children and young people.  The co-directors – who are based in Edinburgh and Dunblane will use The Melting Pot as a central location to work together to develop the organisation by raising its profile and developing partnerships with other providers.

Fathers’ Network Scotland works to facilitate the positive engagement of all fathers with their children, families & communities.  The organisation has recently secured funding from Awards for All to create an online information network for fathers’ workers.  Chair David Drysdale will lead on this development project during the six months at The Melting Pot.

HALE (Health and Life for Everyone) is an independent charity established to provide direct assistance to children, young people and adults who are at risk as a result of vulnerabilities, disability or disadvantage. The co-directors say they will use their six months at The Melting Pot to provide a boost of energy as they consolidate their work to date and continue the development of the organisation.

Joyworks uses laughter yoga to improve well being and bring about positive change.  Developed from a series of workshops in the West End of Glasgow, director Sharon Miller now runs workshops in two Glasgow locations and in Stirling.  She will use her six months here to pilot workshops in Edinburgh – and we're expecting lots of laughter at The Melting Pot while she does so...

The Melting Pot’s Assisted Places programme is supported by the Scottish Government’s Third Sector Enterprise Fund.
